Lot 159 Santa Barbara Chardonnay 2008: new release $14 Musky aromas, citrus, creamy oak. Cameron Hughes is a Negociant in the wine world, delivering small "Lots" of high-end wines at very affordable prices. | WINE TASTING GUY MARCH 25, 2008 Skurnik Tasting - my favorites (finally) Beginning with their '06 "Sonoma Coast Estate" Chardonnnay, I found very nice subtle oak combined with nice citrus notes and fresh crisp flavors. Next was a wine from Etude Wines in Carneros, which runs South of both Napa & Sonoma counties. SLAKED | MONDAY, APRIL 21, 2008 California Futures Tasting at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel April 12 for the Twenty-third California Futures Tasting at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, featuring wines from 48 producers' 2006 vintage, plus a number of additional samples. VIGNA UVA VINO | MONDAY, APRIL 14, 2008 Halleck Vineyards Clone 828 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2006 Today, at a tasting at the Waldorf Astoria given by Martin Scott Wines , I had the opportunity to sample over 50 Pinot Noirs. couldn't try them all but one that really stood out was the Halleck Vineyards Clone 828 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2006. 828 is an individual clone and individual vineyard near Annapolis, about two hours north. VIGNA UVA VINO | SUNDAY, APRIL 13, 2008 La Crema Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2006 California Sampled this wine at a tasting at Rosetta Wines This California Pinot Noir aged in French oak for 7 months opens with aromas of ripe black cherry, little hints of chocolate & vanilla, wood and spicy clove. On the palate is cherry again, and plum. Balanced acidity and firm tannins give this a nice finish. High alcohol content, 14.6% MORE >>
