Tasting Quality wines from Sartori di Verona
the Sartori di Verona Amorone della Valpolicella 2008 was full bodied and elegant with a mineral/earth character. The entire lunch paring was fantastic, and though most guests chose the Amarone braised beef cheeks for their main, I chose the seared sea scallops with summer truffle. Take our first wine, Ferdi Garganega.

The malolactic fermentation takes place mainly in large stainless steel tanks, and the wine then spends about 15 months in oak barrels (of which some 50-60% are new) before bottling. As of 2008, the second label of Lynch-Bages will be called, "Echo de Lynch-Bages". Very soon I will visit Chateau Cordeillan Bages! Viticulture.

The main body of the wine is more about the steely and sleek tone, the acidity and focus, and the aromas and flavors are more mineral than fruit. This wine reminds me very much of the 2008 Bernard Baudry Chinon Rosé in that it drinks more like a white wine than like a rosé. think of those more as Bandol wines than as rosé anyway.

    Highly regarded WINE BAR
They even have wines from Israel (which you all know I think is great) as well as a very enviable "reserve list" mainly comprised of Bordeaux & Burgundy (with some Napa Cab, & Barbaresco thrown in for good measure) ranging in price from about $200 per bottle up to $1750 for a 2000 Chateau Margaux. The good: the staff was really great.

    "It's Too Hot For Red"
The main dish choices were skirt steak or scallops, and since I usually avoid scallops in restaurants, I would eat steak. Appetizers: $8 - $15, Mains $25 Service - poor. So proclaimed the "server." And a critic should go several times before trashing a place. One person's opinion based on, in this case, one visit. No red wine.
