BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | WEDNESDAY, JUNE 18, 2008 By the Glass - Thierry Puzelat Edition The Puzelats grow Pinot Noir, Gamay, Côt (called Malbec in Argentina), Bréton (called Cabernet Franc in the film Sideways ), Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris (called Pinot Grigio in Italy), and the rarely seen Pineau D'Aunis and Menu Pineau (called Arbois in the Jura). They buzz with energy, some say "wildness." Everything is good. MORE >> -
DR. VINO | TUESDAY, JUNE 1, 2010 Wine tasting at Caves Auge – Tissot and Binner edition [Paris] Stephane Tissot from the Jura outside Les Caves Augé in Paris. Over to Tim for photos and comments from his tasting some wines from the Jura and Alsace. This cool day in March featured a tasting of wines from the Jura and Alsace. The Cotes du Jura en Barberon, 2007 & 2008, grown on limestone soil, had a lovely richness. MORE >> -
DR. VINO | SATURDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2011 A tasting of hipster wines Allow me to geek out: This particular blanc de noirs comes from pinot noir in his father’s vineyard, hand-harvested at low (for Champagne) yields of three tons per acre, all from the 2008 vintage, fermented with indigenous yeasts and then rests on the lees for 16 months, and is bottled with no dosage! “Will you wear a wool hat?,” MORE >> -
BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | THURSDAY, MARCH 10, 2011 Jenny and François, Spring 2011 They have some real gems, leaders in their appellations, like Lassaigne in Champagne, Binner in the Alsace, and Tournelle in the Jura. It was excellent wine and it's elegant richness, and the sense of completeness it exuded leads me to guess that it is based on the superb 2008 vintage. These wines are worth a special search. Energy. Earnestness. AnI found myself taking notes on many Lareano-isms. like this one in particular. What do you want?" Harvest?" MORE >>
