WINE TASTING GUY | WEDNESDAY, APRIL 30, 2008 Polaner tasting standouts On the white side I tried a sweet white, the Texier Opale 2007 which was quite sweet but was very well balanced with a crisp acidity. But his 2006 Peillot ALTESSE (the name of the grape) de Montagnieu was very nice (as was his 2007). Making my way past the French wines I landed in the California section. don't know. great wine. WINE TASTING GUY | MONDAY, NOVEMBER 26, 2007 My first blog entry - a blind date at a local wine bar. Although it is a Monday, the deadest night in the food/beverage industry, we waited about 20 minutes for a place to sit. The waitress recommended a California Pinot, but at $80 bottle, kinda steep, especially for someone who is not a big fan of California Pinot - too fruity! On to the wine.
