Easily one of the best Finger Lakes red wines I have ever tasted. Last month on my first return to Dr Frank's since then, I was not going to leaving without their latest vintage, the 2009( $30 ). found it more like a nice Barolo. -

Two years ago, I fell in love with their 2007 Cabernet Franc. The 2007 is very ready for now, but will cellar for many years to come. My favorite was the '09 Cayuga White. -

Mesmerizing French oaky notes (not overt, though) with blueberry compote and Cool-Whip sweet cream and sweet lactic notes. The good bottles are fantastic, and they supposedly age very well, but I've had a few bad experiences recently (2005, 2007) and became discouraged. Common wisdom holds that it's very difficult to pair wine with asparagus. I'm not sure why this is so. Some wines work better than others, but this quest for perfection is kind of silly, I think. -

After fermentation, macerated in stainless steel barrels for 3-8 days, then aged in big oak barrels, which mutes the wood effects, for 26 months and another six months in bottle. Good soft finish. -

The Domaine de Cabasse 2007 Gigondas Rouge is elegant and clean on the palate, with extreme balance between the fresh acidity and tannins, along with concentrated red and black fruit. -

This Sauternes is aromatically complex and the flavors are less sweet than the aromas would suggest. Racking Every 3 to 5 months subject to tasting. -

Greg La Follette of La Follette Wines. Of the three Chardonnays were I preferred the 2008 La Follette Lorenzo Vineyard, which was very Meursault like and Greg said was due to the specific vineyard. -
