The 2008 Red Tail Ridge semi-dry Riesling was suggested by my sister-in-law. Just finished watching the movie "Avatar" while sipping on my first Riesling of the summer. The two wines we tasted were the 2008 Riesling and the 2008 'dry' Riesling. Now looking forward to 4 day trip to New York City and some Long Island Merlots and some more Hudson Valley wines. The first one I opened was the Martellotto 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine is 85% Cab/Sauv, 10% Merlot and 5% Syrah which gives it a nice fruity and peppery finish. The second bottle was an Agent for Change 2006 Zinfandel. Such was the case with one of the two wines received from Martellotto Wines. MORE >>

Can't seem to find a Finger Lakes Riesling I don't like. Instead, I uncorked an Arboleda Carmenère 2006 from the Colchagua Valley of Chile.
