BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | MONDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2009 Wine and Cheese - Le Welsche and Gewurztraminer understand Gewurztraminer, like Muscat, the way they relate to the other white Alsace grapes. In general, Gewurztraminer and Muscat make aromatic wines, whereas Riesling and Sylvaner are more mineral, and Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc are more about fresh fruit. I'm one of those weirdos who likes Gewurztraminer. MORE >> -

BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | TUESDAY, MAY 6, 2008 Brooklynguy's Notes on Recession Wines It's a neat blend of mostly Sylvaner, but there is Riesling, Pinot Blanc, and even a bit of Muscat in there too. I'm not trying to beat a dead horse here, but my favorite under $15 beauty of the season is the fantastic 2005 Clos Siguier Cahors, $12, (Jenny & Francois). This might sound simple, and fine, maybe it is. MORE >> -
BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | WEDNESDAY, MAY 28, 2008 NY Wine Tasting: Some Thoughts The 2007 Mosaico , for example, is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Muscat, Gewurtztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, and Friulano.but all from one specific vineyard site - the Sylvanus Vineyard on their estate in Bridgehampton. Shinn's 2005 Estate Merlot is balanced and spicy, and just delicious. Where is the soil? Just my.02 cents. MORE >>
