He grew up in Nuits-St.-Georges The results in the glass are terrific. | | | | | | | BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE APRIL 21, 2009 By the Glass - Burgundy Complaints Edition 2005 Lafouge Auxey-Duresses 1er Cru Les Duresses , $27. 2005 Domaine des Croix Bourgogne , $25. 2005 Catherine et Claude Maréchal Bourgogne Cuvée Gravel , $25. 2005 René LeClerc Bourgogne , $25. Very pure and good intensity of fruit, and shows an orange zest earthiness that for me is very Gevrey-Chambertin. | | | WINE TASTING GUY MARCH 25, 2008 Skurnik Tasting - my favorites (finally) And finally the Peay 2005 "La Bruma" Estate Syrah, which I was told came from a very cool Syrah site, was also not a fruit bomb like some of the other Syrah's I tried. based on prices it was actually the cheapest of their 3 Pinots, the 2005 Etude "Temblor" Pinot Noir. Sadly, the prices for Peay wines are quite high. Great stuff. | | | | | | | | | -
SLAKED | TUESDAY, DECEMBER 9, 2008 Domaine de la Guyonnière Gevrey-Chambertin The word that comes to mind as you sip Antonin Guyon's 2002 Gevrey- Chambertin ** is searing. found this bottle in the basement refrigerator recently, shortly after I had purchased its younger sibling, the 2005 *, for which there are no words to adequately describe, but I digress. BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | SUNDAY, DECEMBER 7, 2008 5% of the Tip of the Terroir Iceberg That Aux Combottes and Clos St Jacques make vastly different wines, even though they are both vineyards in Gevrey- Chambertin. In extremely ripe vintages (recently 2003 and 2005), the nuances of terroir can take a back seat to the aromas and flavors of ripe fruit. This is the first Burgundy Trip 2008 post. Quite the opposite. MORE >> -
BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | THURSDAY, JANUARY 25, 2007 Following up on a Buying Strategy Idea 2005 is supposed to be an incredible vintage, and from the little I have tasted so far, it's not hype - the wines are amazing. And if by some miracle I were to find a bottle of 2005 JF Mugnier Musigny, I bet it will cost $375 or so. Results are mixed so far - some good wines, some disappointing wines. So beautiful. MORE >> -

That 2005 Simon Bize was really beautiful. wonder how the other 2005 Bize wines are.anyone taste them yet? How do I know this? And that one was from me when I re-read the post. MORE >>
