We got to meet Amy Cheatle and the staff and tasted some of my favorites and some new reds along with a surprisingly nice Sauvignon Blanc and I must admit a real nice Syrah. was impressed with the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Cabernet Franc. Sometimes you just get lucky when searching out a wine. dropped into a local shop this week and during a conversation with the shop owner I had asked if he had any wines from Oregon. He did. WINE TASTING GUY | SUNDAY, MAY 4, 2008 Day in Napa then moved onto the 2005 Hayne Vineyard Zin & '05 reserve Zin. Definitely a great food wine. tried the Volker Eisele 2005 Cab which was nice and somewhat subdued and finally the Showkett Vineyards 2005 Cab. had a Sauvignon Blanc from Modus Operandi that was very nice, crisp, grassy & citrusy. WINE TASTING GUY | WEDNESDAY, APRIL 30, 2008 Polaner tasting standouts began in a French table area and tried some Sancerres (made from Sauvignon Blanc), some white Burgundys (made from Chardonnay) and some white blends. wine I will definitely keep an eye out for in the future. wine I really loved and found quite unique was the 2005 Domaine de Roally Vire'-Clesse' from the Macconnais, France.
