Sadly, the prices for Peay wines are quite high. Great stuff. | | | | | | | | | BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE JANUARY 25, 2007 Following up on a Buying Strategy Idea 2005 is supposed to be an incredible vintage, and from the little I have tasted so far, it's not hype - the wines are amazing. And if by some miracle I were to find a bottle of 2005 JF Mugnier Musigny, I bet it will cost $375 or so. Results are mixed so far - some good wines, some disappointing wines. So beautiful. | BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE FEBRUARY 26, 2008 2005 Bourgogne - a Few Favorites 2005 in Burgundy is one of those vintages in which all wines can be great. Yes, in 2005, some producers made humble regional wines that will knock your socks off. Their 2005 Bourgogne will run you more than $25 anyway. There are plenty of solid producers who made fantastic regional wine in 2005. And forth. What about you? | BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE DECEMBER 26, 2006 Holiday Wine Dinner We had 2005 Domaine Roulot Bourgogne Aligote with the soup, and it was exactly as it should be - light, crisp, clean tasting, briny and citrusy acidity. 1995 Domaine Newman Latricieres Chambertin. 1997 Domaine Groffier Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses. 2000 Ghislaine Barthod Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru les Cras. | | | | | | | | | -
BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | TUESDAY, APRIL 1, 2008 Wine Splurge Update Back in January I lamented my past wine splurge results. Many of you commented with excellent suggestions, some of which I wound up using for Splurge 2007. Yeah, just like the NY State legislature, my budget comes out later than it's supposed to. But the good news is that I had a little more to spend than the $400 that I originally planned on. MORE >> -

BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2007 Nuits-Saint-Georges: Some Questions If you take the train from Paris to Dijon and drive south to Burgundy, you go through Marsannay (an up-and-coming appellation), then Gevrey- Chambertin, Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle- Musigny, Vougeot, Flagey-Echezeaux, and Vosne-Romanee, the powerhouses of red wine production in Burgundy. Why is this? But it's a start. MORE >> -
BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | SUNDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2007 WBW # 39 Announced - Silver Burgundy think of Chambolle- Musigny, Vosne-Romaneé, Gevrey- Chambertin, and the storied villages of the Côte de Nuits, and also of Puligny, Meursault, Volnay, and the other superstars of the Côte de Beaune. There are also excellent reds to be found in Gevrey. What do you think of when you hear "Burgundy?" MORE >> -
BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | TUESDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2008 Dressner Portfolio Tasting Notes The 2006's from Chidaine are quite good, although if you're used to the 2005's they will seem light. The 2006's are probably typical and the 2005's are probably extra rich and intense. My favorite was the 2006 Clos Habert , a demi-sec wine that I also love in 2005. The Chambolle- Musigny was silky and more elegant. MORE >>
