He grew up in Nuits-St.-Georges The results in the glass are terrific. | BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE APRIL 21, 2009 By the Glass - Burgundy Complaints Edition 2005 Lafouge Auxey-Duresses 1er Cru Les Duresses , $27. 2005 Domaine des Croix Bourgogne , $25. 2005 Catherine et Claude Maréchal Bourgogne Cuvée Gravel , $25. 2005 René LeClerc Bourgogne , $25. Very pure and good intensity of fruit, and shows an orange zest earthiness that for me is very Gevrey-Chambertin. | | | | | | | | | BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE OCTOBER 3, 2007 Red Burgundy from the Martin Scott Portfolio One thing I want to say right here and right now is that I think you can spend between $30-$60 per bottle and get a case of stupendous 2005 red Burgundy. But the Cote de Beaune is the place to go. That 2005 Simon Bize was really beautiful. wonder how the other 2005 Bize wines are.anyone taste them yet? How do I know this? | | BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE FEBRUARY 26, 2008 2005 Bourgogne - a Few Favorites 2005 in Burgundy is one of those vintages in which all wines can be great. Grapes were harvested without a lot of rot or other damage, even from plots that qualify only for the regional designation of Bourgogne, Côte de Beaune Villages, or Côte de Nuits Villages. Their 2005 Bourgogne will run you more than $25 anyway. | | | | | | | | | -
BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | TUESDAY, DECEMBER 26, 2006 Holiday Wine Dinner We had 2005 Domaine Roulot Bourgogne Aligote with the soup, and it was exactly as it should be - light, crisp, clean tasting, briny and citrusy acidity. 1995 Domaine Newman Latricieres Chambertin. We opened a bottle I brought back from our trip, a 1986 Louise Perrin Cotes de Beaune Villages. think I need to try more Champagne. MORE >> -

BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2007 Nuits-Saint-Georges: Some Questions If you take the train from Paris to Dijon and drive south to Burgundy, you go through Marsannay (an up-and-coming appellation), then Gevrey- Chambertin, Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny, Vougeot, Flagey-Echezeaux, and Vosne-Romanee, the powerhouses of red wine production in Burgundy. Why is this? This just doesn't make sense to me. MORE >> -
BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | SUNDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2007 WBW # 39 Announced - Silver Burgundy think of Chambolle-Musigny, Vosne-Romaneé, Gevrey- Chambertin, and the storied villages of the Côte de Nuits, and also of Puligny, Meursault, Volnay, and the other superstars of the Côte de Beaune. There are also excellent reds to be found in Gevrey. What do you think of when you hear "Burgundy?" Is this even possible? MORE >> -
BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | TUESDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2008 Dressner Portfolio Tasting Notes The 2006's from Chidaine are quite good, although if you're used to the 2005's they will seem light. The 2006's are probably typical and the 2005's are probably extra rich and intense. My favorite was the 2006 Clos Habert , a demi-sec wine that I also love in 2005. The Italian wines - I didn't taste 'em. How thoughtful is that? MORE >>
