An excellent wine, the best example of Barbera that I've ever had. 2006 Paitin di Pasquero-Elia Barbera d'Alba Serra Boella , about $17. Fantastic. | | WINE TASTING GUY OCTOBER 26, 2008 Wine starts in the Vineyard - Golan Heights Winery While at the other end of the wine sophistication spectrum, the 2005 Yarden Katzrin Chardonnay is a BIG golden chardonnay with toffee, caramel, nutty aromas and a creamy palate that finishes long with all sorts of complexities. WINE TASTING GUY | SUNDAY, MAY 4, 2008 Day in Napa then moved onto the 2005 Hayne Vineyard Zin & '05 reserve Zin. As to the wines I started with the 2006 Chardonnay that only sees 5% new oak & is put through no malolactic fermentation. then tried the 2006 Napa Zin, their 21st year producing Zin. WINE TASTING GUY | SUNDAY, MARCH 30, 2008 Kosher Wine Extravaganza - Unusual (but gooood) wines It was the 2006 Dalton Estate Barbera. lighter wine than a Cab, merlot or Syrah, Barbera is said to be the most (or second most) planter varietal in Italy. They had 3 wines at the tasting yesterday and one that stood out as unusual was their 2005 Gilad Reserve. Merlot, Cab, Syrah - been there done that. Worth a shot! MORE >> -
