Bonterra adds a little Merlot and Syrah to expand it's flavor and texture. Bonterra Cabernet Sauvignon is a definite buy again wine and at only $16 Take it from an amateur wine lover. Great Buy! There I tasted more reds and found an interesting blend 'Viridescens', a bordeaux style blend of Cab Franc, Cab/Sauv and Merlot. had already done a review on the 2004 Eclipse, so we skipped that one. SLAKED | FRIDAY, APRIL 3, 2009 Ridge Vineyards Z-List Spring Shipment We tasted these wines blind over the past five nights, with a 2004 Freemark Abbey Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon thrown in to mix things up. By Days 3-5, this was clearly progressing in a much more elegant fashion than the East Bench or Paso Robles, without losing definition or dark fruit notes. MORE >> -

Also used in the wines/blends was Tempranillo, Carignan, Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah and Tinta del Pais (which I learned is really just another name for Tempranillo).
