| WINE TASTING GUY APRIL 30, 2008 Polaner tasting standouts began in a French table area and tried some Sancerres (made from Sauvignon Blanc), some white Burgundys (made from Chardonnay) and some white blends. The Sancerre's of Gerard Boulay were generally very nice. His 2004 Neiman Cellars Napa Valley Red is a blend of 1/3 Cab Sauvignon, 1/3 Merlot, & 1/3 Cab Franc. don't know. | | | SLAKED JUNE 25, 2008 Dom. Jean-Paul Balland Sancerre 2004 ** Straw color. There's gorgeous mellow oak, citrus and tropical notes here, but the mid-note is light, citrus-heavy, a touch grassy, with flint and steel. It's light, refreshing, and bright, even at 4 years old.
