The taste was fruity with just a tad too much black pepper. Don't think I would have with any fish, but definitely a nice wine for lamb or a nice pork roast or even a good angus beef hamburger. haven't tasted that many Oregon Pinot's and what I have had were a bit pricey, but great wines. All of Baudry's wines are delicious and offer great value, but I have a soft spot for Cuvée Domaine, probably because the 2003 was the first Baudry wine that I ever drank. love Cuvée Domaine in general because although it is most definitely a serious wine that benefits from short to mid term aging, it drinks beautifully when young. prefer this to any other Champagne of equal price that I've tasted, and it's better than many vintage wines that cost twice as much money. And so I decided not to be frightened by MMIII, even though it features grapes from the roasting-hot 2003 vintage. If it were, Boulard's Petraea would cost far more than $38. Lamb , at a minimum.
