Moncuit, Roagna, Cascina della Rose, Arnot-Roberts – Polaner highlights

Pierre Moncuit – Quite delicious champagnes, overall. The blanc de blancs grand cru [cuvée 2008] has depth and minerality, a stony core that pleasantly lingers. The Crichet Paje on the table from 2002, a poor vintage but a great wine. The 2008 Barbarescos are delectable treats. The rosé has a lip-smacking acidity. MORE >>

2006 Benoît Lahaye Champagne Mill ésime , $68, imported by Jeffery Alpert Selections. drank the 2002 in Portland on the day that I met my good friend Peter Liem , back in August of 2008. I've read comments on the interweb about variation again in 2008, but specifically with the "N" lots - no sulfur as I understand it. 2008 Jean Foillard Morgon Cuvée Corcelette , $34, Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant.
