    Two Weeks of Incredible Champagne
could tell you about the three 1998 Rieslings we had with dinner, including the FX Pichler Unendlich , but this is supposed to be about Champagne. Peter and I drank the 2005 Saignée de Sorbée merely days before this Seattle dinner, and it was also a great, but an entirely different wine. These things come in waves, I guess.

Australian Riesling - Can it age? - Grosset, Steingarten and Leo Buring
One question that led me to Australia is whether Australian Riesling can age. Riesling from Australia tends to be dry and is almost always bottled under screwcap now. The youngest Riesling I’ve tasted was a tank sample of the 2009 Jacob’s Creek Steingarten Riesling. Quite delicious.

Christoffel Erben Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Auslese **. thought it was just great, but my favorite part was watching the experienced Riesling folk in the crowd drink it with this ho-hum reaction. The more I learn about wine, the more I realize that I don't know.

    Revisiting Some 2001's
For example, 2002 was considered to be a great year in Burgundy and in Oregon, and the wines tend to be priced accordingly. Wines are generally priced accordingly - in other words - people like you and me might be able to afford wines that are out of range in 2002. This idea is applicable in all of the "great" wine regions. Absolutely.
