This is the exciting thing that happened to me and four other students in the Master of Wine educational program who won a scholarship based on essays we submitted. very much liked the 2002, and found a curious note of a caraway seed along with saffron and East Indian spices. 2000 (white peach) and 2002. Perfect Berries.

Tasting the Wines of Jaques Lassaigne
blend of grapes from 8 parcels, this version is 72% 2006, the rest 2005. About 10% of the final blend is 2004 and 2002, but from bottles that are disgorged for this blend. 2002 Brut Nature Blanc de Blancs , $90. Emmanuel makes a vintage wine every year, "even if only a few bottles for my education," he says.

A Dinner in the Veneto Style
So this evening was an education for me. This was paired with the Pieropan Soave Classico 2002 I brought that I think might have been just past the curve. This week I had the good fortune of experiencing a traditional Venetian themed dinner and wine pairing at the home of my friends Eric and Deborah. with a kick. 16% alcohol!

Girard Winery
I, for one, never understood the close relationship between Girard and Rudd, and sought out the history from Steve Ross, Director of Wine Education at Girard Winery. As previously reported, the 2002 Girard Caberent Franc Napa Valley displays bright and luscious strawberry notes on opening. That was the end of the beginning of Girard.
