A " Special Club " bottling from Goutorbe , I can't say I enjoyed this 2000 Grand Cru from Ay any more than the house's  NV Cuvee Prestige. Pale hay color with very little bubbles. Mellow apple cider notes on the nose, followed by buttered white toast and old oak, with minor citrus notes.

Right now we have a 2000 Bordeaux blend from Veneto that is on our list for $68 that I have seen in Italy selling for over $130 Euros. Wine searcher says it's about $60 now. Created in the '80s, the Paillard house is one of the newer houses by Champagne standards. Very nice nose, quite elegant.

have tasted Monte Bello cabernets from 1976, 1985, 1986, 1989, 1993, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2004, and I am constantly amazed by the wine's ability to age gracefully. Monte Bello is my favorite winery/vineyard. No two vintages of Monte Bello taste the same, and each vintage evolves in the cellar. These wines require patience.

Non-dosage Champagne has no sweetener added to the wine used to top up the bottle after disgorgement. No sugar? Grower Champagne.

tasted the 2000 Brut 3 years ago and I really liked it, by the way. We return to Shea Vineyard on this, the fifth and final night of our Oregon Pinot festival. festival that took place right here in the confines of our own apartment. But a festival nonetheless. It is interesting to note that St Innocent has no estate vineyard. Amazing.

have tasted Shea Wine Cellars wines from several vintages in the past and enjoyed them very much, notably the 2000 and 2003 Estate wines (a blend of grapes from many of the vineyard blocks).
