The palate was as youthful as the 2005 I had a few months ago. Domaine de la Pépière's Granite de Clisson is an example of this kind of wine - a superb wine last produced in 2005. 2000 Domaine des Roches Neuves Saumur-Champigny La Marginale , $12 (secondary market). It certainly went well with steak, but it was not memorable, didn't inspire me to buy the 2005 version ($35) and lay it down. We had 2005 Domaine Roulot Bourgogne Aligote with the soup, and it was exactly as it should be - light, crisp, clean tasting, briny and citrusy acidity. 2000 Paul Pernot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru les Pucelles. 2000 Joseph Drouhin Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Garenne.
