Several tastes commented on the change in style at Closel. The more I learn about wine, the more I realize that I don't know. Same is true with wine, I would say. | | | | | | | -
BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | MONDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 2010 What Makes a Good Vintage? think about vintage now when I buy a special bottle of wine, but I think about them according to my own taste and experience. beginning with the first ever vintage of 1997, and including 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2004. We also drank the 2002, although it was released as Limpido!, One of the things I used was a vintage chart. MORE >> -
BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2012 Tidbits And they taste so very good. This wine is all Bouzy, a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, but it reminded me of a wine I tasted a few years ago by Moutard that is made with the obscure grapes of Champagne, things like Arbanne and Petit Meslier. cannot tell you how excited I am about this. This neighbor raises pigs. MORE >> -

Here are some notes on my favorites from that evening: ( 2000) Françoise Bedel Champagne Dis, Vin Secret , about $60. Headrick's portfolio is small, but well selected. Silly me. MORE >> -
DR. VINO | SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2011 Orange ya glad you asked? Levi Dalton on orange wines And that’s what Dave Erickson, a site reader in North Carolina who blogs at the Wine Mule , has been doing and he sent in this question about them: We had a tasting of orange wines the other night , and the question came up: How do sommeliers deal with these wines, when they all seem to need anywhere from 4 to 24 hours to become presentable? DR. VINO | FRIDAY, MARCH 11, 2011 How does cabernet franc age? A visit to Domaine Baudry Matthieu, the jovial, thirty-something son of Bernard who has been with the domaine since 2000, led us in a tasting of the more-or-less current releases and a few back vintages as well. The 2002 Grezeaux still had plenty of freshness and a bit of that herbal–but good herbal–character of cab franc. MORE >>
