But I was told that 12 years is not old for Hermitage, and that it would soften with further aging. A wine (Hermitage) I will definitely be re-visiting. It actually reminded me a bit of a California Zinfandel. Emillion Grand Cru. It turned out to be a 1998 Paul Jaboulet Aîné Hermitage La Chapelle. Maybe this is a Burgundy with a few years on it, from a year like 1996 where the wines can still be tannic beasts at this stage. Turned out to be a 1996 Prunotto Barolo Cannubi. Here are five red wines. | |
