The more I learn about wine, the more I realize that I don't know. This was also true when I played a lot of chess, when I was getting into economics courses in grad school, basically anytime I've undertaken anything of any import. Incredibly delicious wine. | BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE JUNE 17, 2009 The Pickyeater's BBQ Here are some that moved me, along with a few impressions: 1995 Mount Eden Chardonnay Santa Cruz Mountains - if California wine tasted like this, I would drink lots of California wine. Great Beaujolais. | | | | | | | A WINE STORY MAY 9, 2010 Rusack Vineyards in San Ynez Now that I am on the East coast and more Old World focused as a result of my (more Old World) wine studies, it is great to re-discover California wine. It was established in 1995 by Geoff Rusack and Alison Wrigley Rusack with a commitment to creating world-class wines. | | ALICE FEIRING JANUARY 23, 2007 Alice Feiring - In Vino Veritas 26 KRUG Brut Champagne 1995 98 $224 (Krug? SLAKED | THURSDAY, MARCH 26, 2009 2004 Hanzell Chardonnay I've been wondering recently what it would mean if Hanzell, which planted the first pinot noir vines in California in 1953, received 95+ points from the major trade press regularly. Hanzell previously reviewed: 2005 Chardonnay 1995 Pinot Noir. I didn't expect to like this 2004 Chardonnay from Hanzell Vineyards as much as I did. MORE >> -

DR. VINO | TUESDAY, DECEMBER 16, 2008 Wonder wine, Claudia Schiffer, Bailout, US exports — sipped and spit America California overtakes France to move into second place in the UK wine market, thanks to high volume supermarket brands, particularly rosé (aka white zin?). The only way to get the glass is with the 1995 Dom Perignon Oenotheque ( find this wine ) for $3,150, or $2,750 more than the bottle itself. SIPPED: American wine in the UK! MORE >> -
BROOKLYN GUY LOVES WINE | SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2007 Sotheby's Pre Sale Tasting Report; Part 2 The California flight in this tasting surprised me, in that I found myself enjoying the wines more than I enjoyed their counterparts from Bordeaux. 1995 Stags Leap Merlot, Napa Valley - Opulent nose of plums and spices. And what of the white wines? was not so impressed, though, overall. None of them really hit me where it counts. MORE >> -
SLAKED | WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2008 2004 Ridge Vineyards Monte Bello ** According to the professional wine critics, 2004 was a very good vintage for California cabernets, merlots, and blends. Parker's review for the 100 point 1995 Ch. Monte Bello is my favorite winery/vineyard. It's one of those rare vineyards where the soil, climate, cultivation, history, and lore of the place produces a unique wine. MORE >>
