1994 Ridge Vineyards Zinfandel Lytton Estate

The wines from Ridge Vineyard's Lytton Estate can age as well as, if not better than, many Rhone Ranger and cabernet based wines, and 1994 seems to have been a particularly good vintage across the board for California. Sotheby's Pre Sale Tasting Report; Part 2

The California flight in this tasting surprised me, in that I found myself enjoying the wines more than I enjoyed their counterparts from Bordeaux. 1994 Caymus Vineyards Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon - Complex nose of menthol and dark fruits.
