He guessed a 2005 Burgundy, young and tightly closed. sensed a sea-water umami kind of thing on the nose that I've found before in mature Burgundy, although I wasn't getting much else in the way of Pinot character. One of them was a 1994 from the Mâconnais. 14 year old white wine from what is probably the least distinguished part of Burgundy. very intriguing bottle. Now what about this Puligny-Montrachet?
