WINE TASTING GUY | FRIDAY, MAY 16, 2008 Riesling & Co. World Tour 2008 The 1993 Riesling Spatlese Erbacher Marcobrunn had a golden yellow color and was sweet yet balanced with just enough acidity and had a very nice mouth feel to it. The 1993 Auslese Trittenheimer Apotheke Bollig-Lehnert on the other hand had a complex bouquet with a sweet round & nicely crisp mouthfeel that left me WOWed. MORE >> -
WINE TASTING GUY | WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26, 2008 Best bet (kosher) Israeli wines for Passover - at all price ranges. The oldest one I tried was a 1993, but I've also had the '97, '99 and have recently been drinking the 2002, & 2003. I have been asked by countless people which wines I would recommend they check out for Passover, so I thought it appropriate to blog for the masses. The first price point you may ask about is the UNDER $10 range. category. MORE >> -
WINE TASTING GUY | WEDNESDAY, MARCH 19, 2008 2 Wine tasting events - Part 2 tasted California wines, Oregon wines, French wines, Italian wines, young wines, sweet wines, old wines (I had an AMAZING 1967 Barolo that was very much alive & a 1993 Chardonnay that sadly tasted oxidized). The first wine tasting event I attended today was a portfolio tasting for Skurnik wines. What an amazing tasting. MORE >> -
SLAKED | FRIDAY, AUGUST 29, 2008 1999 Dom Perignon * Older vintages like the 1990 and 1993 have been enjoyable, subtle, but ultimately sterile. I don't drink Dom Perignon as much as I'd like to, and frankly the wine confuses me a little. There was nothing "wow' about them. The 1999 is different. Chardonnay on the nose, chardonnay on the palate, chardonnay chardonnay chardonnay. MORE >> -
SLAKED | WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 20, 2008 2004 Ridge Vineyards Monte Bello ** have tasted Monte Bello cabernets from 1976, 1985, 1986, 1989, 1993, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2004, and I am constantly amazed by the wine's ability to age gracefully. Monte Bello is my favorite winery/vineyard. No two vintages of Monte Bello taste the same, and each vintage evolves in the cellar. These wines require patience. MORE >>
