Christian Seely led a very interesting test, in which we tasted two groups of base wine: Group 1 was 2008 Merlot, and Group 2 was Cabernet Franc. Parker scored it 94-96 points, and compared it to "the great 1992 and 1991." At thirteen, the 1995 Monte Bello is still a child. Composed of 69% cabernet sauvignon , 18% merlot , 10% petit verdot , and 3% cabernet franc, the wine is dark and brooding, with complex notes of cedar and blackberry on the nose. It won't. They started making wine in 1985, but only bottled and sold wine starting in 1992. From 100% sangiovese, the Perlato del Bosco Rosso 2001 ** is thick and dark and dry.
