A WINE STORY | MONDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2010 Discovering the Wine Properties of AXA Millesimes Christian Seely led a very interesting test, in which we tasted two groups of base wine: Group 1 was 2008 Merlot, and Group 2 was Cabernet Franc. SLAKED | MONDAY, DECEMBER 1, 2008 1995 Ridge Vineyards Monte Bello Parker scored it 94-96 points, and compared it to "the great 1992 and 1991." At thirteen, the 1995 Monte Bello is still a child. Composed of 69% cabernet sauvignon , 18% merlot , 10% petit verdot , and 3% cabernet franc, the wine is dark and brooding, with complex notes of cedar and blackberry on the nose. It won't. From 100% sangiovese, the Perlato del Bosco Rosso 2001 ** is thick and dark and dry. I've been watching it evolve for the past four plus years.
