EAST VILLAGE WINE GEEK | WEDNESDAY, MAY 31, 2006 Fada! Vacqueyras is an appellation in the southern Rhone Valley that was established in 1990 so it is a fairly young appellation considering. The grapes grown here are Grenache, syrah, mouverde and cinsaut. The Vacqueyras we had was a blend of Syrah mostly and grenache and surprisingly some gamay according to the owner. Please go. EAST VILLAGE WINE GEEK | FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2006 Tasing Provence and The Loire The producers name is Chateau Rouet and it was a blend of 60% granache and 40% syrah and had a beautiful pink color and a wacky curvaceous bottle. Next was a bottle of 1990 chinon 100% cab franc from the Loire region of France. The Loire is mostly known for their whites but who can pass up a $40 1990 from France. Gal was torn. MORE >>
