The fourth vintage of Polish Hill, it was bottled under cork (they switched to screwcap around 2000) and had mid-shoulder fill (if the bottle had shoulders, that is) and came directly from the cellar of Jeffrey Grosset (pictured right), one of only a few bottles remaining. left this until the last minute, and then went to Slope Cellars , one of my absolute favorite Brooklyn wine stores. liked this immediately because I’m pretty sure it is also the name of one of the main characters from the hit 1980’s film Revenge of the Nerds. Henry's End has an extensive wine list, with an emphasis on American wine, and they have a number of cellar selections from the 1980s, featuring Shafer, Caymus, Mondavi, etc. do not buy or cellar wines with screw-caps, and I encourage others to follow suit. We dined at Henry's End in Brooklyn Heights last night, which was very good. MORE >>
