APRIL 10, 2012 [1967, Viticulture] Telmo Rodriguez uncorks terroir in Rioja
” Starting with the 2010 vintage, Rodriguez returned to make the wines at Remelluri, the 375-acre estate (with 250 acres planted to vines) that his father, Jaime, purchased in 1967. Telmo Rodriguez was in full cry when I met him in New York City recently.

The beautiful island also boasts one of the longest established viticultural histories of the region. Elba has had its own established DOC since 1967, and is considered part of the Tuscan region. Isola d''Elba , a wine region I''ve never written about, is probably best known as the site of Napoleon’s exile, but it also happens to be what Plini The Elder called "insula vini ferax", "the island that produces a lot of wine."

JUNE 14, 2010 [1967, Viticulture] Visiting Valpolicella & Friuli
The tour of the large modern winery with its many sepia-colored pictures of the original Bolla family was led by Giannantonio Marconi, viticultural coordinator who explained that GIV was also working towards making the vineyards more organic. The next pairing was a 1967 and 2001 Amarone.
