Lassaigne is not what I would call cult Champagne, like Selosse, but this is definitely Champagne for the Champagne lover. Le Cotet is a vineyard planted by Jacques Lassaigne between 1964 and 1967. This bottle is about 90% from 2006, with 80% of that vinified in tank and 20% vinified in used Burgundy barrels. Excellent wine.

His father Jacques took over the Domaine in 1967 (Dujac = du Jacques) and became an icon as a wine maker. Denis and unquestionably one of the greatest in all of Burgundy? think I basically maintained my dignity, but I definitely was emitting the "I covet" vibe. Definitely one I'll be on the lookout for! have previously mentioned the 1967 Barolo I was fortunate to be able to try. It was from the E Pira (Chiara Boschis) & Borgogno winery and it was a 1967 "Giacomo Borgogno" Barolo Riserva (how is that for a mouthful?). then moved on the the Burgundies of Domaine Henri Jouan.
