A WINE STORY | WEDNESDAY, JUNE 1, 2011 Tasting Notes week of May 31 Vidal-Fleury Coes du Rhone 2010 Rose. Style note: A bright cheerful rose that personifies summer with its gorgeous color, uplifting floral fragrance of ripe berry fruit and flowers, and long finish with a pleasant nectarine pit kick. Great with salads and fish. 2009 Wyndham Estate Chardonnay Bin 222. Balance and texture quite delicious. MORE >> -

SLAKED | WEDNESDAY, JUNE 1, 2011 2007 Araujo Estate Eisele Vineyard Syrah * Purple, maybe a very dark garnet color. Mesmerizing French oaky notes (not overt, though) with blueberry compote and Cool-Whip sweet cream and sweet lactic notes. Mellow spice in the middle and finish, which is really the only way to tell this is syrah. Not what I would call a varietal driven syrah; but a delicious one. MORE >> -
